As we enter the era of modernization characterized by industrialization and urbanization, the traditional societal and family structure have begun wilting. Modern education and employment of the children in foreign land for better prospects, Occupational differentiation and growth of individual philosophy are fast eroding the traditional values that ensured dignified ageing for the elderly in their family network.
Our senior Citizens home was established in 1997. The home provides the elderly to lead a dignified and peaceful life .
The home comprises of 22 rooms on 4th,5th and 6th floor and 11 rooms on 6th floor annex. The air condition rooms on Annex have T. V., fridge and telephone facilities.
The home provides nutritious vegetarian meals to our residents. Various organizations/ Volutary Social workers have programs like Bhajans, Satsangs and variety Entertainment items throughout the year for a good ambience for our residents.
Colleges like SIES, Nair, KEM, Sion Hospital, Doctors/ Nursing students visit the home for interaction with senior citizens. Corporate social Responsibility Group like Deutsche Bank, Accenture, Cognizant send their executives for regular interaction session with the senior citizens here and they hold programs for them.
There is a manager who looks into the day to day affairs of the home. A senior doctor and a resident full time nurse attend to the elder‘s health problems daily. Besides, we have a full fledged medical centre with consultants and also a pathology unit at subsidized rates for the benefit of our seniors.
