SHREE MANAV SEVA SANGH -BALGRUH
Balgruh caters to total 110 Underprivileged children from 0 to 18 yrs. We follow the guidelines of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) under the Juvenile justice, Care and Protection Act 2016. All the admissions and discharge are done as per the orders of the Chairman of CWC The institution puts in all efforts to create socially conducive and balance atmosphere for the children residing in the balgruh.
FOUNDLING HOME
The Primary activity of Shree Manav Seva Sangh(SMSS) – The Foundling home Provides orphan children services that include accommodation, Food and Medical care , Educational and vocational Training.
SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH STATUS:
Most of the Children are orphans or victims of broken homes and adverse circumstances such as Alcoholism, Drug Abuse and violence etc. SMSS has to provide a temporary shelter to the victimized mother. The maximum effort of SMSS is to create a conductive , social and emotional environment to bring in social and emotional stability in the child and mother. The institution has provided the services of trained social workers, expert counsellors and a full fledged Child Guidance Clinic, Remedial Education Centre and Autism Centre to take special care of such children in need.
EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS
Education is back bone of a person for his/her overall development in society. Educated woman can play an important role in the development of their family. Our aim is to impart good education and imbibe moral and good values to help these children to be worthy citizens of tomorrow.
Each child receives best of education in private schools – Seva Sadan Education Society high School, Gamdevi, Mumbai. Tutors are appointed to monitor the day to day progress in studies of these children and extra coaching is also given to students of higher classes who are weak in English, Maths and Science.
Adolescent girls are also allotted duties to make them competent in cooking and housekeeping activities. They are also trained in creative works like making greeting cards, paper bags, purses, artificial jewellery, Diyas, flower making, painting, embroidery designs, Bakery, Tailoring and fashion Technology.
In the year under report, 18 Children are receiving higher level of education in colleges , ITI Training courses and Para Medical courses.
RAMKISHAN ISHWAR KAUR MEHRA CRECHE CENTRE :
The centre is more than 30 years old. The centre is a great boon to the working Mothers and offers its services to the children from 6 months to 6 years age. The crèche provides nutritious food and play facility. The children in the age group of 2 to 4 years are taught nursery rhymes and initial counting of numbers with educational aids and games. The crèche is managed by trained teacher and helpers. Student social workers also have block placement here in the subject “Early childhood Care & Education”
